Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

For the past two months, I have made a change in my life. That's right, folks. I, Sandra Barkevich, wife, mother, author, have finally taken charge of my life and started eating healthy. And, if that wasn't enough, I've also started getting up EVERY morning at 4:20am to exercise! Gah! So, here we are. Thanksgiving Day and I still got up at 4:20am to exercise. This was very, very hard for me, but, thanks to my supportive and loving husband's encouragement, I was able to roll out of bed and push through another 45 minute work-out.

Now, I'm off to bake a couple of pies to take with us to my aunt's house in NYC. You might ask how I will handle the whole healthy eating on a day like Thanksgiving. Well, I've promised myself that, no matter what I eat, I will NOT feel guilty. On the other hand, I also know that I do not need great heaping gobs of gravy and mashed potatoes and stuffing and... Well, you get the idea. :-)

So, how do you handle the holiday eating frenzy? And, what is that one food item that is sure to tempt you from your best laid plans? I think mine is my aunt's roast pork. Something that I fantasize about all year round. It just melts in your mouth and is sooooo....ok, now my stomach is grumbling. Tell me what you can't get enough of.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Sandy :-)

One food item? My downfall is the whole meal. *bg* I'm glad it's just once a year.

I hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving!!

I don't think about what I eat on Thanksgiving and that's saying a lot because I *always* think about what I eat.

I allow myself a helping of everything (except the cranberry stuff, yuck!) but *only* a helping. I *don't* go back for seconds no matter what.

Dessert. Ah, dessert is my downfall. I usually eat more than one but I keep it to small portions and no more than one helping of each again.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, Sandy!

Handle holiday eating? With two fists if my scale is to be believed.

:-)

Great seeing you Saturday! You look amazing! The hard work is paying off!
