Very Exciting News!!!
Well, it has been quite hectic here in the Barkevich household. Keith had his first stint as a professional wedding photographer. Wow, did he do an awesome job. I am still amazed at how many incredible pictures he got. Keith, I am so very proud of you. Good work!
Also, my very good friend, Lisa, and I are going on a road trip to Atlanta, GA for RWA Nationals. This is very exciting stuff. We leave Monday afternoon and hope to arrive late Tuesday (It’s a 16hr drive from our neck of the woods.) Anyway, we are psyched and are really looking forward to meeting a bunch of great new people. I’ll be sure to take lots of pics with my digital camera and post ‘em as soon as we get back.
Now, for the Very Exciting News—I received an email from Esi Sogah of HarperCollins-Avon. She enjoyed reading my partial and has requested the full…YES! She is asking for the full ms of Andromeda’s Tear. I am flipping between shock and pure excitement. As I am heading out to Nationals this week, I won’t have time to get it ready until I return. However, you can bet I’ll be making sure it is in tip top shape before I ship it out. Guess it’ll be back to the waiting game after that. It is so nerve-wracking and wonderful all at once.
On to other news…Sharon, Elisa, & I have been involved in a fantastic contest at Karin Tabke’s Blog. Talk about nerve-wracking! There were 50 of us to start. We each posted the first line of one of our mss. That first week, an anonymous judge culled 5 entries and the remaining 45 moved on to round 2. Each week, we go to Karin’s site to see if our entry is still there. If it is, we post the original line along with the next and so forth. As the contestants go down, the submissions get longer and more interesting. Here is the nail-biting part…Sharon, Elisa, & I have all made it to round 7! This is very exciting as there are only 10 rounds. We are getting down to the wire and there are so many great entries, the judges have it hard. Head on over and root for your favorites.
Stay tuned for more updates on Andromeda’s Tear and for fun pictures from RWA Nationals 2006 in Atlanta Georgia.
